Recipe of the Week
Last week I was searching for something deep in the recesses of my baking equipment cupboard when I came across something I have not used for quite a few years – a sponge flan baking tin! I wonder how many of my lovely followers recall how, back in the seventies it was a quite the thing when entertaining to serve a home-cooked sponge flan, topped with tinned oranges and often glazed with “Quick-Jel”! Well, how could I resist? And it was delicious (though with a more suitable glaze 😉). 3 ingredients to make the sponge and – yes – topped tinned oranges (augmented with fresh raspberries now). Old School but quite delicious. I hope you give it a try this summer! B xxx
