Just a few more days until the Easter Holiday! Since our 4-year sojourn in Italy a Colomba is an Easter must-have, but the only one I had found until this week was priced at over £30 in an upmarket shop in the Cotswolds so held back and lo and behold found one yesterday in one of our local shops for £13! The Colomba is a traditional Italian Easter cake shaped like a dove, not dissimilar to their Christmas Panettone, but topped off with a sugary almond crust. We’re breaking one tradition this year by having turkey on Easter Sunday instead of lamb. It’s last Christmas’s “spare” and it’s taking up valuable space in the freezer – turkey is my favourite meat really so it’s no hardship to have to eat it! It won’t be a “full Christmas” meal but coincidently we did come across pigs in blankets in the same store yesterday so… it would be rude not to, wouldn’t it? Below you’ll find several ideas for Easter treats and of course there are lots more recipes on the main pages accessible from the tabs at the top. Have a very Happy Easter! x
